Materials Needed
  3 sheets of 8 ½ x 11 coordinating pattern papers for background
  4 sheets of 8 ½ x 11 coordinating pattern papers for frame
Coordinating cardstock to match frame colors
Coordinating cardstock to match background colors
  1 sheet 8 ½ x 11 white cardstock
  Alphabet template
Frame template (we freehand drew a basic frame shape for this project)
  Scissors
  Pencil
  Acid-free adhesive
  Pen for journaling

Instructions
  1. Using white cardstock for your base, arrange coordinating colors for background design to see how well they work together. When placement has been determined, trim paper to fit page allowing patterns to fit next to each other without overlapping. Adhere background pattern paper to cardstock.
  2. Arrange pattern paper for frame with the edges fitting next to each other but not overlapping. Place the frame template over the area where all edges meet and trace the frame onto the paper. Remove the template and cut out the frame from each piece.
  3. Reassemble the frame pieces and mount on cardstock that matches the background colors. Cut out center of frame from cardstock leaving 1/8" border. Mount your photo inside the frame and mount the frame onto your patterned background.
  4. Cut out coordinating letters for the name from the alphabet template and adhere to top of frame. Using cardstock, cut small rectangle shapes to journal special events, child's age, teacher's name or favorite things. Adhere journaling pieces randomly around frame.
