Basic Layouts
By Laurie Smith |
Once you’ve decided
on the color scheme, its time to start the layout process. How many
pictures do you want on each page? It may be 3 or 4 or more—what
you want is some kind of continuity from page to page. By using
the same colors throughout your album and then similar cropping
sizes and shapes, your album will have a cohesive look and feel.
Do not crop a photo until you are placing it in a layout.
Tools for cropping:
Paper trimmer is the best—easiest. We recommend buying a
good quality trimmer because you will use it every time you scrapbook.
Play with how you want to layout your page. Choose which photo
will be the main focus—this might be the one you matte.
There are products available in a variety of colors in pre-cut
sizes for easy matting. This makes your scrapbooking easier and
faster.
Also, if you have any memorabilia to include, this is the time
to plan on how you will safely incorporate it into the layout.
