How
to create water color doodles: |
Fill
the brush reservoir with water. Attach the brush, then squeeze
gently to wet the bristles. Dab on paper towel to remove excess
water. Gently swirl the brush into your choice of water color.
If it is too wet, dab on paper towel. A damp brush is easier to
work with than a wet one. |
|
Petal/Teardrop Shape:
Press the brush gently onto paper then lift. |
|
Elongated Teardrop/Leaf:
Press the brush onto paper then pull downward, lifting the brush
upward as you near the end of the leaf.
|
|
“Flick” Petals and Leaves:
Press the brush firmly onto the surface then flick outward as you
lift.
|
|
Stems/Lines:
Use the very tip of the bristles to draw lines for stems and curly
“Q”s
|
Practice these strokes
to get a feel for the brush and the amount of water needed. Flowers
are combinations of strokes. Here are some samples for inspiration,
but have fun and PLAY and you’re sure to
come up with some variations of your own!
Outline/accent with a variety of markers to achieve many different
looks.
