Tip: A simple silk flower stamped with French writing (the
language of love!) catches the eye and captures the heart on this
classic card. Before stamping, place the flower on scrap paper.
If the stamp is smaller than the flower, position and restamp to
cover the flower. Other stamp patterns that work well are dots and
stripes. |

Instructions
|
1. |
Cover the card front with striped paper with the
stripes going vertically. Trim the excess paper, then trim the card
to 5” x 5 5/8”. Save the cut portions and ink the card
edges. |
2. |
Trim the black text paper to 5” x 5”
and mat the top and bottom edges with red texture paper, trimmed
to 1/16” and inked with black. Center on the card front. |
3. |
Open the card and punch the primitive heart from
the lower right corner of the card front. Save the punched heart
for later. |
4. |
Cover the inside back of the card with red texture
paper and starting at the bottom, stamp the Old French Writing stamp
twice with black ink and let dry. |
5. |
Using leftover striped paper on cardstock from step
#1, cut two 5” x 1/4” strips and ink edges with black.
Glue one across the card front, 1 3/8” from the top of the
card and one across the inside back of the card, 3/4” from
the top of the card. |
6. |
Stamp Old French Writing on the ivory flower with
StazOn ink and allow to dry. |
7. |
Thread a black button with ivory floss and tie. Adhere
to the flower center using Glue Dots™. Attach the flower to
the left side of the striped border using Glue Dots™. |
8. |
Cut out the Classic sarapaper™ tag, punch a
1/8” hole in the top and thread with ivory floss. Tie and
hang from the button in the flower center. Cut a square out of ivory
texture, stamp the number with black ink and use a black pen to
handwrite “years”. Glue to the tag and secure to the
card with foam tape. |
9. |
Cut a 2 1/8” x 3/8” strip of ivory texture
and ink with black. Alternate upper and lower case stamps to spell
“happy”. Stamp a small heart and color in with a red
pen. Adhere across the punched heart on the card front using mini
brads on either side to secure. |
10. |
Glue the punched heart from step #3 to top right of
striped border on the inside back of the card. Thread a small red
button with ivory floss and adhere to the punched heart using Glue
Dots™. |
11. |
Cut a 3” x 3/8” piece of ivory texture
and ink with black. Stamp “anniversary” alternating
upper and lower case stamps with black ink. Stamp a small heart
and color in with a red pen. Glue the strip on the inside back of
the card, lined behind where the word “happy” from the
front of the card lies so that when the card front is closed, the
“anniversary” is hidden behind the “happy”.
Secure with mini black brads. |
