To soften the effect
of "Old Photo" on important areas, such as faces: |

Click on the original photo layer in the Layers palette to select
it. |
|
Double click on the "Tint Sepia" filter in the Artwork
and Effects palette. |
|
Click on the top layer to select it (the "Old Photo"
layer). |
|
Select the Eraser tool and choose a soft-edged brush from the
Brush Picker menu in the Options Bar. |
|
Reduce the opacity of your brush to around 30% in the Options
Bar by moving the Opacity slider to the left. |
|
Brush wherever you want to reduce the effects of the "Old
Photo" filter. The more you brush over the same area, the more
will get erased. |
