Metal and Wood Photo Frame
Option 1

  • Prepare wooden frame by staining or painting the color of your choice.
  • Cut and emboss Spellbinders Die Template S4-211 Tulip Borderabilities 2 times, using pure copper foil.   Save the small tulip and stem pieces that are cut from the inside of the border.
  • Adhere a borderability die cut on both the top and the bottom of the frame.
  • Using the pieces you saved from a previous step, adhere them to the sides of the frame, making small tulips with stems.

Option 2

  • Prepare wooden frame by staining or painting the color of your choice.
  • Cut and emboss Spellbinders Die Template S4-218 Lattice Borderabilities 2 times using pure copper foil.  Save the curved pieces cut from the inside of the borderability.
  • Adhere a borderability die cut on both the top and the bottom of the frame.
  • Arrange 2 of the saved pieces to form a diamond pattern on each side of the frame.

Both of these projects are very simple, yet show the versatility of the borderability die templates.  In these examples, I left the copper in its natural state.  In the following finished sample, I treated the copper with alcohol inks after cutting and embossing.  Pure copper can also be heated to create color change to the pieces of copper.
