"Fresh Snow" Scrapbook Page by Joan Gosling
Layered Punch Border
Materials Needed
  White cardstock
  Green cardstock
  Brown cardstock
  Navy cardstock
  Tree punch
  Mini snowflake punch
  Glitter glue
  Scissors
  Acid-free adhesive

Instructions
  1. Punch 4 green trees and 3 white trees from cardstock. Freehand cut a wavy strip from brown cardstock to represent the ground and from white to represent snow on the ground. Cut four 2 ¼” x 2 ½” rectangles from navy cardstock for scene background.
  2. Build a scene on one of the navy rectangles by layering one green tree on the brown ground. Build the next rectangle with one green tree layered with a bit of white cut from the top of the white tree punch out. Add a small strip of “snow” on the ground with white cardstock. Continue building another scene with the tree and adding more snow by trimming half the white tree punch out and layering. Continue with the final scene showing most of the tree covered in snow and the ground is white. Punch mini snowflakes to add to the scene and add glitter glue for an icy look.
  3. Adhere the scenes progressively down the side of the page creating a border.
This same technique can be used to create a title. Layer paper with a wavy edge of “snow” along the bottom and trace letters using a template. Cut the letters out and decorate with mini snowflakes or glitter glue for ice.
