Epson Computer Tips: Using Microsoft Word text boxes as titles for your pages
Set your paper orientation to landscape in your page set up, so that you can stretch that title to about 11” on a letter size sheet. Perfect if you plan to print then cut out and glue to a 12x12 page.
  Click on Insert/Text Box
Draw a text box of an appropriate size doe the title.
Then format your text. Type in your title, highlight it, click on Format/Font at the top and select a font, font style, and size.
Under Color, use the drop-down arrow to select a color; shadow, emboss, etc. for additional effects.
Next format the box itself. Click on the box, choose Format/Text box from the top menu. To set the background, or fill, of the text box, use the drop-down arrow to select a color.
You can even fill in the text box with a pattern or texture provided in the software. Just click on Fill Effects, or you can use a photo of your own as the background.
Lastly, text box border also has options. To set a border, select a color under Line in the Format Text box. Under Dashed, select a style. Change the weight from the default to as thick as you would like.
