Instructions
Preparing
the clay elements-
1.
Cut mulberry paper edges using large deckle edge
scissors and square template.
2.
Glue to background page. Set aside to dry.
3.
For transparent window: place no-stick pressing sheet
on ironing surface. Layer fusible web with paper side next to pressing
sheet. Cut assorted threads to cover the surface. Place (1) piece
of tulle on top. Cover with the remainder of the pressing sheet.
Iron to adhere threads to the tulle. Remove from the pressing sheet.
Peel off paper backing. Place remaining piece of tulle on top. Sandwich
tulle layers between pressing sheet. Iron to adhere.
4.
Cut desired size window in 12” x 12”
background with attached mulberry paper using rectangle shape template
and shape cutter.
5.
Using fabric glue, attach tulle window to the back
side of the 12” x 12” paper covering the window.
6.
Cut assorted rectangles from remaining mulberry papers
as shown. Use deckle edge scissors for detail. Glue in place. Layer
papers if desired.
7.
Using metallic pencils – add details around
paper edges (or stitch on sewing machine with metallic threads and
a pre-programmed decorative stitch).
8.
For decorative detail using the variegated metallic
thread, wrap the ½” x 5” cardboard covering the
cardboard thoroughly. Glue thread ends in place. Add to the bottom
of the page as shown.
