Instructions
1.
Punch the 12 inch length of black cardstock using
a Fiskars border punch.
2.
Trim the punched border leaving a ¼ inch strip
of black paper along the border.
3.
In a paper cup mix ¼ cup of Ultra Thick Embossing
Enamel (UTEE) with a teaspoon of gold pigment powder. You may need
more depending on how much you plan to emboss.
4.
On a piece of scrap paper ink 1/3 of the border strip
with the embossing ink pad or ink tube. I did sections of the strip
so the embossing ink wouldn’t dry before I had a chance to
add the UTEE mixture.
5.
Place the wet strip on another piece of scrap paper
and pour the UTEE mixture on the wet portion of the border strip.
Tap off the excess and pour the remaining UTEE mixture back in the
cup.
6.
Turn on the heat embossing tool and direct the heat
to the side of the border strip with the UTEE mixture. After a few
seconds the mixture will bubble and settle. If you’d like
a thicker coating repeat steps 4 - 6 on top of the cooled UTEE mixture
at least two times. I only heat embossed my border strips one time.
7.
Create as many border strips as you choose to create
the background paper for this scrapbook page.
8.
Cut a three-inch strip of gold 12x12 handmade paper.
Create the title “Joe & Lorene” using the Making
Memories Simply Stated Rub-on alphabet. Adhere the title to the
left side of a 12 x 12 sheet of black cardstock. Adhere as many
embossed border strips evenly along the rest of the black cardstock
to create a “wall paper” effect.
9.
Matte a focal photo using 3M black photo corners.
10.
Adhere the photo to the page using 3M photo square
adhesives.
