Dia de los Muertos Window Book

Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday where the cycle of life is celebrated. You honor your loved ones who have passed away by making sugar skulls, altars, poems and other types of whimsical art. I created this window book to hold pictures, quotes and mementos from the dearly departed.

Materials Needed:
ScanNCut machine
White cardstock
Sakura Koi Watercolor Pocket Field Sketch Box Set
Sakura Glaze Pens, in black and other assorted colors
Vellum paper
Aleene’s Tacky Tape Runner
Ribbon
Hole punch
Scissors
Skull template
Optional: Patterned scrapbook pages

Instructions:
For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Use the skull template to cut the pages on the ScanNCut, or by hand with scissors.
2. You should have one set of the full skull to use as the cover, and a stack of the other open area skull shape, so you can glue other papers inside.
3. Use the watercolors and Glaze pens to draw and decorate and write sayings on each of the sets. Make them all different from one another.
4. For the open area spaces, insert vellum and glue in place.
5. Line up all the pages, in the crease down the center divider, punch two holes, thread the ribbon through and tie off. Continue decorating and adding pictures as desired.
