Tie-Dye Scrap Book Page

Designed by Kathy Cano-Murillo, The Crafty Chica

Last year I went on an amazing travel adventure with some friends. There were four of us and we each knew each other from our blogs. We entered a contest for a trip to Glen Canyon and we won! I made this page to always remind me of how much fun we had! I incorporated many personal details into the design – such as tie-dye, bandanas, glitter and Aztec patterns to celebrate our Mexican-American heritage!

Materials Needed:

1 sheet of white cardstock
1 white bandana
Tulip One-Step Fabric Dye in preferred colors
Fusible webbing
Brother ScanNCut – home and hobby cutting machine
Stencil, with Scribbles black fabric ink pad
Picture
Solid color cardstock
Tacky Dots

Miscellaneous Supplies
Scissors
Iron
Glittered letter, stickers

Instructions:
For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

  1. Tie the bandana with rubberbands, soak in water and add dye. Let set overnight, then wash in color water, dry and iron.
  2. Iron the banana to the fusible webbing, cut off excess.
  3. Iron the bandana with the webbing to the cardstock.
  4. Place your stencil on top of the bandana and tape down with blue painter’s tape.
  5. Create an Aztec pattern stencil using the Brother ScanNCut machine.
  6. Rub the fabric ink pad over the stencil.
  7. Cut colored cardstock and photo and affix together and use Tacky Dots to affix to the page.
  8. Add embellishments.
