Folded
Heritage Frame
Materials
Needed
5x7 photo (make sure the subject is
in the middle of photo)
2 Sheets double-sided ivy paper
3-in-1 Heart corner punch
Fiskars personal trimmer
Fiskars clear mounting stickers
Instructions
1.
Cut out ten 3” squares using the personal trimmer.
Then line up the diagonal on the cutting line of the personal trimmer
and cut each square in half diagonally.
2.
Starting each fold with the light patterned side up
follow these 6 steps ( a thru f ).
2a.
Find the center of the long side of the triangle by
folding in half and pinching the center (DO NOT fold all the way
across)
2b.
Fold the center point up to the crease mark.
2c.
Unfold the point and punch with corner heart punch.
(DO NOT punch the corner before folding up. The punch takes off
part of the corner and it will be impossible to line up correctly.)
2d.
Flip the triangle over and fold the right side down
to meet the center crease.
2e.
Do the same with the left side.
2f.
Flip the triangle over so that the hearts are showing.
3.
Once all of the 20 triangles have been folded you’ll
need to put a sticker behind each fold to keep the piece flat on
the page. (Simply open the right and left leg and place a clear
sticker over the center crease so it will hold both sides.)
4.
Take four folded triangles and attach them together
in a row lining up the points of the piece that the hearts are punched
into. (Refer to folding step 2f)
5.
Line up and attach 4 more for the top of the frame
and two sets of six triangles to go along each side
6.
Once all the sides have been lined up and attached
then you need to attach the corners to complete the frame. Flip
the triangles upside down and attach with a small rectangle to each
corner. (This is necessary since there is no overlap on the corners
as there is on the straight sides.)
7.
Once the frame is complete you can glue it over your
photo on your page. Add any journaling and a title and you have
a beautiful heritage page.
