computer tips:
How important is paper for printing photos? |
Paper will make or break your print
quality. Here are some things to consider when choosing paper. |
How
to choose which paper quality |
|
For a printed photo that looks and feels and will last,
in some cases even longer than a traditional photo, you need to
start with the right paper. That means pick the paper with the features
that you want for this use. First pick the coating: do you want
glossy or matter? Remember, a matte surface in a glossy page sleeve
looks glossy! Next pick thickness. Sometimes, thin photo paper is
fine, say for printing index sheets. But if the photos are for your
album, you want a good thickness. |
What
common paper terms mean |
|
Opacity: means how see-through is the paper. Good paper
will be very opaque, so you can’t see through one side to
the other. |
|
Brightness: is how white the paper is. |
How
to tell the printer which paper you’re about to print on |
|
Every printer will ask you to type in the paper name and give you
a list of options. From the print menu go to “properties”
and type in or select the type of paper your using. Then click on
“ok” to start printing. |
