Computer Tips: Crop with the computer before you print |
|
It really is simple and much neater to crop
a photo before you print it. One of the most common mistakes we make is
with framing photos. How often do we take a shot, and only notice later,
that there’s something we don’t want in the photo, like a lamp-post
coming out of the top of someone’s head? |
It’s really easy to fix and doesn’t
involve any scissors. Cropping your photos can be done with any basic photo
software program. For example, Film Factory is software that comes with
the Epson photo printer. |
First select a photo and then pull down “Retouch”
from the pull down menu. This program calls it “trimming”. Using
your mouse, pull on one corner until you get the focal point to take up
most of the frame, shown by the gray lines with boxes. It keeps the same
shape as the original photo if it’s left on “aspect ratio of
image”. You can change the original ratio by clicking the “free
ratio” option and trimming more off the top or the sides. Then you
can print the photo as big as you like to fill the spot on your page. |
