Computer Tip: How to scan a 12" x 12" page with a letter size
scanner |
|
Most of you know about having pages copied on
a copy machine, but the problem with that is that those results don’t
come close to the quality of the original. The pages tend to look like copies
because the colors are never true to the original. By using a software feature
that’s called with “photo stitching” or “photo mending”,
it’s not only really easy to do it yourself at home with your scanner
and a wide format printer, it also gives you much better quality than you
could ever get from a copy machine. |
Take your original page and place it on your
scanner bed. The typical 12” x 12” scrapbook page is bigger
than the scanner bed. That’s OK, because you’re going to scan
the page in two steps. First, the left side and then the right side of the
page. |
Scan each half of the page and save each as
a separate file. Using as software like Adobe PhotoShop Elements you’ll
marry together the two separate files and turn them into one new file. That’s
where the “stitching” or “merging” comes in. The
program automatically finds where the 2 files overlap, makes that overlap
area invisible, and joins them back into one page. Then save the newly merged
file as a new file name. |
Next, using a good quality photo paper, print
it our on a wide format printer. |
