Flower photos for this project were taken with a digital camera,
but you can also use photographs that have been scanned.
Instructions
1.
Crop photos into squares using software that came
with your camera or other software program.
2.
Import photos into a Word document. Reduce the size
of the flowers (or objects) you wish to showcase to 2 ½ “
x 2 ½” and ¾” x ¾” for shapes
you wish to punch out. A background photograph at the bottom of
the page was cropped to the width of the paper. You may need to
place this lengthways on your document (top to bottom instead of
side to side).
3.
Mat square photos on yellow cardstock squares, 2 ¾”
by 2 ¾”. The large background photo was cropped to
8” x 3 ¼” then cut lengthways into three strips.
Punch the tulip design about ¾” from the left edge
of each strip as shown then adhere the strips to a 3 ½”
x 8” piece of yellow cardstock.
4.
Cut a leftover piece of your background photograph
about 3” wide and 5” long. Starting with the center
letter “I” at the center of this strip, punch the title,
“SPRING”. To align the letters, make sure the edge of
the strip is pushed to the back of the punch each time. Trim the
strip to ¾” x 4” making sure the word is centered.
Center then adhere to a 5” by 1” strip of yellow cardstock.
5.
Punch two small flower photos and adhere one to each
end of the strip as shown.
6.
Punch 3 tulips from green cardstock then adhere to
a 4” x 1” strip of yellow cardstock. Punch 3 tulips
from flower photos. Trim the flower from the stem then adhere on
top of the green tulip.
7.
Trim the ends of the embellishment and title strips
in the shape of an arrow tip as shown. Punch a hole in each end
and insert a brad.
Referring to the
photograph, assemble the page as shown.
The card was created
in the same manner. Small photos of the same daisy photograph
were punched with the daisy punch. Two flower shapes were punched,
then layered for each small flower embellishment.
